My group and I completed some simulations of the Milky Way galaxy colliding with Andromeda M31 for my final astrophysics course. The simulation involved stars and dark matter, but only the stars are shown in the videos. In these videos, the Milky Way is light colored and Andromeda is dark colored.
The first video, Video 1, is based on what we think will occur. The second video, Video 2, is based on having an excessive amount of dark matter in Andromeda. The difference between the conditions is most evident when the Milky Way is shot through the center of Andromeda.
I have finished most of my work on the Robosapiens. They now have an additional on-board processor, a Bluetooth interface, and a Java API for easy programming.
Check the Robosapien page for more information.
For those keeping track, the CD changer is now complete and working. A video is available here: Video
